Leighton’s 2nd Birthday Party – Vinings | Atlanta Childrens Photographer

My daughter, Leighton, is and has been obsessed with puppies for probably a year now. We have a 6yr old Rottweiler named Coco who is Leighton’s best buddy, so it’s easy to see why she has such a strong love for dogs. She also loves to jump, and she’s constantly got cake on the brain… so when it came time to start planning her 2nd birthday party, a puppy PAWty with cupcakes and a bounce house was a no-brainer. She wore a black polka-dotted dress as a nod to Dalmatians, and by the end of the night, it was completely covered in sprinkles, icing, and Doritos. Just as it should be, right?! Here are some highlights (ok, a lot) from her 2nd Birthday Puppy Pawty… I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

This sweet girl turned one in early July and had the sweetest ice cream-themed birthday party to match! Catherine’s parents and all of her family and friends gathered together on a beautiful Saturday to celebrate her first year of life, and what a wonderful party it was! Ice cream cones, yummy snacks, giant balloons, great tunes, and, of course, a little cake smash for the birthday girl. She was dainty with her cake smashing, but adorable nonetheless!

I love the opportunity to photograph parties like this… it’s so fun to be a fly on the wall, capturing this great big love that so many people have for the itty bitty guest of honor. Happy 1st birthday, Catherine!

Rhys’ 1st Birthday Party – Mableton | Atlanta Childrens Photographer

This adorable little guy turned one earlier this month, and I had the pleasure of photographing his party with all of his nearest and dearest family and friends. You would never know that Rhys made his entrance into the world a whopping ten weeks early; he is truly a miracle baby for his parents… and he’s also such a little flirt! 😉 I had the best time getting to know his parents, as well as his grandparents, cousins, and friends who came out to celebrate his first year. They jumped in the bounce house, blew bubbles, and even had a surprise appearance by a very slithery party guest at the back of the yard (thank goodness it didn’t decide to come any closer for cake!). Rhys was a trooper with his cake smash and ended up completely covered in blue icing, so I’ll say it was a success. Happy 1st birthday, Rhys! I hope this year brings you and your family all sorts of new adventures!

A Woodland Chic Baby Shower

Last weekend, I co-hosted a baby shower for my brother and my sister-in-law, who are expecting their first baby in April. It’s hard to believe that we’re that far along in our lives that my little brother is about to become a dad (!!), but I was honored and so excited to be a part of throwing this shower for them. I joined forces with her two childhood best friends, who are some of the sweetest, most fun and creative ladies I know.

The chosen theme was woodland chic, and we hosted at my brother’s in-laws’ beautiful home, which looks like an art gallery (her dad is a very talented, self-taught artist). We had so much fun running with this theme, and I think it turned out beautifully. We incorporated a trail mix bar for guests to make party favors, and we used the cutest little teepee to hold gifts, and it’ll later be added to baby boy’s nursery.

I photographed the shower, and I couldn’t resist sharing some shots with y’all. The little woodsy details sprinkled throughout were some of my favorite parts, but the absolute best part was being surrounded by about 45 of their closest friends and both of our families to celebrate them and their little one on the way. He is already so loved, and I just can’t wait to become an aunt soon!!

Bradley’s 1st Birthday Party – Buckhead | Atlanta Family Photographer

Bradley turned 1 a couple weeks ago, and he had the most fun Auburn football-themed birthday party ever! His darling mama Savannah is an expert party planner, and he and his big brother are quite lucky to be the recipients of her amazing skills! Every little detail was thought of, including toilet papered trees, a mini Toomers Corner lemonade stand, tiger cake pops, and football party favors for the kids. My husband went to the Auburn game that day, and when I later showed him photos from the party, he was kind of jealous that he wasn’t there instead. 😉

Turning one is such a big milestone for baby, but more so for mom and dad. The day was filled with laughter and love from all of their friends and family who came out to celebrate Bradley and his sweet family — all decked out in their game day best! It was an honor to be given the opportunity to document this special event for the B family, and it was such an awesome day. Happy 1st birthday, little guy!
