I’ve been photographing Sadie regularly since she was just three months old, and it’s been so fun watching her grow over the years. This girl is spunky, sassy, and oh so in love with her new baby sister. Her fourth birthday falls in March, so we made sure to get some solo shots of her during little sister’s newborn session last month. Sadie’s mom had a pot of gold glitter for her to try blowing out of her hands for a few magical shots, and it was quite comical trying to explain to a toddler how to do this correctly! We were picking flecks of glitter off of Sadie’s face and hair the rest of the time I was there, but we did get the money shot… so I suppose it was worth it. 🙂 Enjoy these fun favorites of this adorable four year old!

I first met Elena’s family when they welcomed me into their home for her newborn session last month, and I so enjoyed my time with them. They were beyond hospitable and so easygoing, up for whatever I had in mind (and they were sweet enough to offer me coffee cake, which I would have happily taken them up on if I hadn’t just decided to cut back on sweets!).  We photographed Elena in her aunt’s baby gowns, and I always love adding in those sentimental touches to make a session more personal. Big brother Antonio was so sweet when he got to hold her… there really is something so special about capturing your first baby showing love and care toward your brand new baby. Harlee Rae’s Newborn Session – Marietta | Atlanta Newborn Photographer

Anna and Eric welcomed their second daughter, Harlee Rae, in February. She was named after Anna’s great uncle, and her name means “meadow” and “grace.” It was clear during my time with them that Harlee is already so very loved. Big sister Sadie is an absolute natural in her new role, and she just couldn’t bare to stay more than a couple feet away from her baby sis at all times. So sweet! Leighton is Two and a Half! | Atlanta Childrens Photographer

Where has the time gone? My daughter Leighton is growing and changing every day, and we are just in awe of the little person she is becoming. She is bursting with personality, and I was just thinking to myself the other day that it’s amazing how much joy is bottled up inside that tiny body of hers. I can only hope that it never fades. I never want to forget the funny and sweet aspects of this age… mispronouncing so many words that I kind of wish she’d never get right, her inquisitiveness, her need for Mommy, her big love and big tantrums, and her innocent little belly laugh. (Also that adorable water spout on top of her head.)

We got home the other day after a big rain, and she saw these tiny white flowers all over the ground in our neighborhood. She immediately proclaimed, “snow!” – ha! – so we headed out to jump around in the flower petals. I’d intended to do more traditional photos in honor of her half birthday, but these are quite fitting for this little busy body who loves running, jumping, and being outside. It’s hard to believe we’re halfway to three!

But all too often, we forget to actually get in front of the camera to be included in those special moments. Some of my most prized childhood photos are not the perfectly posed family portraits… they’re the candid ones that show the love and joy and emotion shared between family.

This spring, I’m excited to offer the opportunity to get in the frame with just your little ones to focus on the overwhelming love and joy they bring to you. Does Grandma live nearby? Bring her along for some three generation shots as well!
