As this Mother’s Day approaches, life looks a little different in our house. We now have THREE daughters, which is something I never fathomed I’d say (or write). ……

I wanted to give a shout out to all the amazing mamas out there, as well as those who dream of one day gaining that precious title. From my experience, it’s the hardest, most trying job I’ve ever known, and it is the greatest privilege and something I don’t take for granted. Being a mom brings me more joy, laughter, and fulfillment than I ever could have imagined. Each stage of motherhood has certainly had its highs and lows thus far, and with each stage of childhood, I have found myself saying “this is my favorite one yet” — because there’s just so much goodness to soak up at every age.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I wanted to share some favorite shots from the past year showing just that — a mother’s absolute love and adoration for her babies, big and small. I hope all of you mamas out there feel the love this weekend — you deserve it!

Meet My Niece, Alice | Atlanta Newborn Photographer

Alice Virginia surprised us all when she decided to make her debut a whole three weeks early! To say that I’m obsessed with this collection of images might be an understatement, because I just love this family so much. I may be a little biased since Alice is my niece, but I mean… how absolutely adorable is this little babe? My mom knits a baby blanket for each grand child when they’re born, and I love this shot below of Alice casually wrapped up in something beautiful that her grandmother made just for her. We had so much fun during her newborn session, and big brothers Jack and Riley (the dog) tried on several occasions to steal the show. When it comes to my business, nothing makes me happier than being able to capture these sweet moments for the people I love most, and this session is one for the books. We love you, Alice, and we can’t wait to watch you grow!

Harlee Rae is one! This precious little red head has been all smiles each time I’ve seen her for sessions, and I think that says a lot about her personality. It was quite chilly on the day of her one year session, and we didn’t hear a peep out of her other than happy coos and giggles at her grandparents, who were in town visiting for her first birthday party. Anna always has the girls dressed in the cutest coordinating outfits, and I just could not get over their little knee socks! Big sister Sadie is turning 5 soon, so we had to make sure to get a few with her in the spotlight as well. 🙂 We got so many toothy grins and adorable tongue-sticking-out shots of the birthday girl, and I love how these turned out.

I’ve been friends with Elizabeth’s mom since the start of our college days in Athens, and she’s been one of my favorite people ever since. Karen and Matthew got married a couple years ago, and when we heard they were expecting their first baby, I couldn’t have been more happy for them. They decided to wait until their baby was born to find out the sex, and what a fun surprise it was to hear when SHE arrived! Elizabeth’s newborn session was a dream to photograph, from her sweet bunny-themed nursery, to her happy demeanor and beautiful blue eyes, to her parents, who I just adore. I first met Evie and her parents when they booked me for her newborn session last year. It was a dreary morning, but we had the best time getting to know each other during their in-home session. It’s been such a pleasure watching Evie grow while photographing her throughout the Baby’s First Year package, and I’m sad that this first year is already over. It’s truly amazing how quickly time flies, and I know that’s the case even more so for her parents. Happy 1st birthday, Evie! You are so loved.
